Lawton Public Schools will be holding the American Indian Education Senior Celebration on Wednesday, April 19 from 6pm - 7pm at the Albert Johnson Sr. Conference Center. The Indian Education program will take this time to celebrate the graduating seniors with families, administration, and local tribal leaders.

Congratulations to Lawton High School junior Adylynn Anderson. She won the 2023 State of Oklahoma Poetry Out Loud Competition.  She performed three poems: "Edgar Allan Poe Is Reached at the Baltimore Harbor by the Shadows That Pursue Him" by Fernando Valverde, "I Once Was a Child" by Victoria Chang, and "I Remember, I Remember" by Thomas Hood. MacArthur High School JROTC will be hosting their 49th Annual Formal JROTC Ball on Fri., March 10th, from 6:45 - 10:00 pm in the McCasland Ballroom at Cameron University. This event is put on by the Highlander Battalion, JROTC cadets from each of the three LPS high schools come together for fun, friendship, and food.
